Individual Therapy

I do individual counseling with adults who wish to address a range of issues.  Developing a relationship where you feel safe, supported, and hopeful is of primary importance.  Therapy can be a very powerful way to heal from past and current difficulties, and to make change so that your life is more in line with what you value.  In order to accomplish this, it is most helpful for us to meet regularly.  Meeting weekly or every other week is best in order to see the change you seek.

I am an in-network for the insurance providers Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Minnesota and Preferred One, and some Aetna plans.  I am also able to receive payment as an out of network provider.  It is your responsibility to call your insurance provider, should you choose to use it, to see what your benefit is.  In many cases, you will be reimbursed for some of the session and are responsible for the remainder, and some will require a deductible.  Some insurance providers only provide coverage for certain diagnoses and/or a limited number of sessions.   It is your responsibility to understand your coverage.  You are responsible for full payment at the time of service if using your out of network benefit.  Forms of payment accepted are Check, Cash, Credit/Debit card, and Health Spending Account cards.

Cancellation/Late Policy

A large part of what makes counseling helpful is our ability to work together and commit to the process.  If you are unable to attend the session, I appreciate a 48 hour notice so that I might give someone else the opportunity to use the time that I set aside for you.  Cancellations less than 48 hours notice will be charged the full session fee. Insurance companies do not pay for missed sessions, so the full amount will be your responsibility.  If you are running late, in most cases this will result in a shortened session and I will not be able to make up the time.  You will still be charged for the full hour.
